Mnemonic Supports DW Investigation on Russian Drones Targeting Civilians in Ukraine
It is often tricky for me to explain to people what I do at work and how my tech contributions to NGO work lead to tangible results; my work is technical, abstract, and often shielded by privacy and safety concerns.
But today I can share an investigation by Deutsche Welle (DW) about how Russian drones are used to systematically target civilians and aid workers in Ukraine. One of my clients—Mnemonic and its Ukrainian Archive—has contributed to this piece.
Trigger warning: Graphic content, warfare, human suffering
- Russia: Targeting civilians in Ukraine with drones (German version)
- Accompanying 30-minute documentary How Russian drones target civilians in a small Ukrainian city
This is a horrible topic and I despise anyone and anything in this world that make the existence of NGOs like Mnemonic a sad necessity. I am proud to contribute a small portion to this work and will continue to bring my knowledge and skills to those who look, report, and hopefully change.
