Topic Pages Are Back! This Time in Astro
Topic pages are my idea of having a corner on the internet dedicated to the influential areas in my life. You can read a bit more about them in my note on topic pages with Eleventy. They fell victim to my migration from Eleventy to Astro, but I am happy to report their reinstatement. Check out my subscriptions, bookmarks, and notes around Music, for example.
Astro’s dynamic routes and content collections—which are part of a broader Content Layer API—made the creation of topic pages a breeze. Creating custom content loaders to fetch my bookmarks from linkhut and my RSS subscriptions from Miniflux was particularly fun. Although only introduced recently in Astro v5, the whole object loader API is already quite powerful.
I am excited to flesh out my topic pages and give them more personality. As always, if you are interested in the code, check out my website’s repo on Sourcehut.
